About Our Farm

NZ Wellness Market was born from a simple but powerful belief: every American family deserves access to food that is truly clean, truly fresh, and truly honest. Our founders, Tom and Linda Hayes, started with a single 12-acre certified organic farm in Sonoma County, California back in 2009. What began as a local farmers market stand has grown into one of the nation's most trusted online organic grocery destinations.

In the early days, Tom would wake before dawn to harvest vegetables by hand, and Linda would pack orders at the kitchen table. They didn't have investors or marketing budgets — just deep roots in the soil and an unwavering commitment to growing food the right way. Word spread quickly. Neighbors told neighbors. Within two years, they were delivering boxes across California and getting requests from families all over the country.

By 2013, NZ Wellness Market had partnered with 12 certified organic farms across three states. Today, our network spans 50+ partner farms across California, Oregon, Texas, Florida, and New York. Every one of our farm partners shares our values: no synthetic pesticides, no herbicides, no GMOs — ever. We audit each farm annually to ensure full USDA Organic compliance.

Why Organic Matters

Conventional farming relies on synthetic pesticides and fertilizers that can leave residues on food and degrade soil health over time. At NZ Wellness Market, we go beyond the USDA Organic standard. We practice regenerative organic agriculture — a holistic approach that actively rebuilds soil health, sequesters carbon, and restores biodiversity. Our farms are certified by both USDA and the Regenerative Organic Alliance, the most rigorous organic certification available.

We also prioritize water conservation, using drip irrigation systems that use up to 60% less water than conventional methods. Our packaging is 100% compostable or recyclable, and we offset 100% of our shipping carbon emissions through verified reforestation projects in partnership with American Forests.
